Reed spreads his flu to several other officers, leaving the station undermanned and Reed and Malloy with a double shift on their hands. Reed has a shootout with a rifle-toting man, Malloy has an argument with a storekeeper and a customer of the quality of merchandise, and Malloy tickets a woman (who turns out to be the new police commissioner) for failing to stop at a stop sign.
